Book Review: Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny By Holly Madison
TW: Emotionally abusive relationships.
I started reading this thinking it would be a fun mental break with some silly antics and "behind the scenes" memories. This book is mostly about a woman recounting *two* emotionally abusive romantic relationships and general abusive relationships within the Playboy Mansion in great detail. Yet, the author never outright acknowledged that or used her platform to help others. I would have liked to have seen a PSA at the end offering resources and encouraging others to seek help if they are also in abusive relationships. The author is extremely judgmental. The judgmental spirit was baffling. I finished the book feeling glad that the author escaped her abusers but, disturbed that the author is grossly lacking any kind of self-awareness. I truly hope she's getting some kind of professional help to deal with her trauma. I would only recommend this book to a super-fan of the author with no history of abuse.
